South Africa beat Fiji, secure semifinal position

The Springboks overpowered a determined Fiji team 37-20 to secure their spot in the Rugby World Cup 2007 semifinals.
Despite scoring two tries in the first half South Africa went into the break up only 13-3. They began feeling more confident in the second half however after upping the score to 20-6 in the 51st minute then seeing Fiji's Seru Rabenu sent off with a yellow card. But Rabenu's sin-binning only seemed to fire up the Fijians as the 14-man team scored two converted tries in the space of two minutes, levelling the scores with just 20 minutes to go.
Unfortunetly for the Fijiians, South Africa recomposed and scored another two tries of their own, putting the final score at 37-20 and becoming the first Southern Hemisphere team to qualify for the RWC 2007 semifinals. Related articles:
